Obituary adalah band death metal terkenal di dunia yang terbentuk di Tampa, Florida, Amerika Serikat pada tahun 1984. Pada awalnya disebut Executioner, band ini mengubah namanya menjadi XeCutioneer pada tahun 1986 untuk menghindari kebingungan dengan band thrash metal dari Boston, dan kemudian diganti namanya sekali lagi untuk Obituary pada tahun 1988. Anggota Obituary saat ini terdiri dari vokalis John Tardy, drummer Donald Tardy, gitaris ritme Trevor Peres, Bassist Terry Butler, dan Gitaris Gennyist Kenny Andrews. Obituary telah mengalami beberapa perubahan lineup, dengan saudara Tardy dan Peres menjadi satu-satunya anggota konstan.
